Dr. Subodh Adhikari

Sustainable Farming Systems

Technical Advisor - USA

Dr. Subodh Adhikari earned his Ph.D. in agroecology from Montana State University, USA, and is currently a Research Faculty at the University of Idaho, USA. His research is centered on developing ecologically-based, sustainable farming systems that emphasize low-input and diversified practices to minimize dependence on external inputs such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and intensive tillage while enhancing crop production. Dr. Adhikari is committed to advancing climate-smart agriculture through practices like cover cropping and cropping system diversification. His work examines the impacts of these alternative systems on biodiversity, plant-insect interactions, ecosystem services such as pest regulation and pollination, and invasive species management. The overarching goal of his research is to strengthen the resilience of agroecosystems by reducing non-target effects on beneficial organisms, thereby enhancing biodiversity-driven ecosystem services and supporting sustainable crop production.
